I qualified in London in ’79, and moved back North to 406 Bury Old Road, taking over from Mr Morris in 1981. I enjoy my profession, taking pride in providing gentle dentistry both simple and complex, and caring for families in a relaxed atmosphere. I have a long-term commitment to continuing professional development, both for myself, and for the profession in general through my mailing list for UK dentists, GDP-UK. I talk and listen to every patient, providing personalised treatment plans, always with long-term care and prevention in mind.

I married Lesley in 1980, and have three children. Jon [born 1983] has a degree in Political Science, Lindsay [1985] is studying Law in Birmingham and starts as a trainee solicitor in London in 2008, and Robert [1987] commenced studying dentistry in Newcastle in autumn 2007.

I have been a member of the British Dental Association since 1975, am presently Chairman of the Bury and Rochdale Oral Health Advisory Group, and vice-Chair of the Bury and Rochdale Local Dental Committee. I am also elected to the committe organising the Annual Conference of Local Dental Committees. I also do some part-time work as a Local Adviser for the Dental Protection Society.

In 2007-8, I have been honoured by the BDA in choosing me as President of the Association's East Lancashire and East Cheshire Branch.

In my spare time, I am a keen golfer, I go to Old Trafford [and away] to see United with my family. I follow most sports, politics and current affairs.

In 2008, Tony was listed [voted by his peers] in Dentistry magazine's Top 50 most influential dentists in the UK at no. 28.
