We have a very experienced and competent surgeon that places implants here at 406 Dental – Mr. Chetan Katre – click here for more details.
Implants can be used to replace missing teeth and maybe suitable for people who cannot use removable dentures. They are titanium rods, which are surgically placed into the jawbone and used as anchors for bridges or crowns. Implants improve the appearance and function of your dentition. However, they are not suitable for everyone and we will advice you of the procedures associated with implants.
If you want a more permanent solution to dentures that improves your ‘chew ability’ and helps you avoid the ‘sunken face’ look often associated with missing teeth, implants could be for you.
It generally takes three to six months for the surgical implant to heal before the final installation of the artificial tooth or teeth can be finished.
Due to the amount of surgery involved this procedure is fairly expensive but this is the closest you will come to re growing your natural teeth. They are far superior to removable dentures and virtually undetectable. They will save you time and have long term health benefits compared with other treatments on offer (90% of modern implants last a minimum of 15 years).
If you would like a quote or more information about the procedure please give us a call.
406 Dental offers you the latest implants that are at the forefront of dental implant technology. We work in association with a Dental Implantologist, Mr Cemal Ucer. Mr Ucer, who has a degree in dental implantology, will place your dental implants in a local private clinic.
The procedure can be carried out using just local anaesthetic with or without sedation, or alternatively with a general anaesthetic. You will not feel any pain at the time, but you may feel some discomfort during the week following the surgery.
- The implants need to bond with the bone after they have been put in. This takes 3 months in the lower jaw and 6 months in the upper jaw. Sometimes the implants may be stable enough after ten weeks.
- If you are having complete dentures, then these can be worn throughout the healing period once they have been modified after the surgery.
- If you are having teeth replaced the dentist will take an impression of the implant for the next appointment when the crown will be fitted.
When completed, you will be able to function just as you did when you had your own natural teeth. Dental Implants have revolutionised dentistry. They could change your life, and remove that most embarrassing of all situations, a denture that drops.
